Results - Urban Sprawl Series - Bellevue Park

Last Night on what I believe to be one of the coldest nights of the year, SAFA held its first event of the season at The Bellevue Park Band Shell.

SAFA's second annual Urban Sprawl Rail Series (first of three event series) was a huge success. The frigid cold did not hold any of these athletes back. They came out and strutted their stuff. Over 25 kids/adults ranging from 7 and up came out and braved the cold to compete in this event. These skiers and snowboarders put on quite a show for those who stayed to watch. See photos under Things To Do at www.searchmont.com.

The results are as follows:

Boys-- Snowboarders Age 14 and up

1st Josh Kunenec
2nd Tim Barkenbosch
3rd Jordan Manttari

Boys -- Snowboarders 13 and under

1st Jacob Stubinsky
2nd Devin Service
3rd Austin Maccarone

Girls -- Snowboarders

1st Brittany Fera

Boys -- Skiers-- 13 and under

1st Justin Hunt

Boys --Skiers -- 14 and up

1st Jake Running
2nd Damien Belanger

Our sponsors for the second annual Urban Sprawl Rail Series are:
Searchmont Resort, The Duke of Windsor, The Rad Zone, Service Rentals, Velorution, The City of Sault Ste Marie, and Christie Camper's. We would also like to thank our judges for the night Marc Gratton, Chris Parlowe and Taylor Cesco and our MC for the night Adam Hayward.

The event was attended as usual by our dedicated Ski Patrolers with out whom the event would not be possible. With out the donations and help from these groups we would not be able to hold these events within the city of Sault Ste Marie.

SAFA would also like to acknowledge Richard Watts and his shop class at SIR JAMES DUNN for manufacturing many of the features for the Terrain Park at Searchmont.

We hope to see you at our URBAN SPRAWL RAIL SERIES 2nd Event at Finn Hill on Wednesday January 28/09 from 6.30 - 8.30 and our Finals at Bellevue Park Band shell during BON SOO.
